He's sipping water, hears of your slaughter.
Now your plucking birds in their coral base,
While all your mutineers are loosing the race back to the boat.
And all the angry ghosts sing songs of wind and waves.
Jeronimus you lied to us.
You clench your fists, they're gone.
The wind and waves forget your names,
They just know you as bones.

Why can't I be a fish?
Then I won't feel like this.
All day just swim, it's bliss,
Till hooks pull on my lips.
Straight from boat to market changing hands,
Now my gills are dry and I feel stranded.
Falling from the fry-pan to the fire,
Not the warm feeling I felt before.
I think I've lost friends to this before,
They were all hooked to lines to where I've landed.
Falling from the fry-pan to the floor,
I grow legs, I'm running out the door.
Now I'm more man than fish,
Get job, buy house, exist.
Why can't I be a fish?
Then I won't feel like this.
Trade me roads for oceans, web my hands,
Now my gills are dry and lungs expanding.
Running through the waves, cut through the foam,
Swimming out to sea to find my home.
Friends don't recognize me anymore,
They're all fish but I'm a fish no more.
I swallowed so much water trying to talk,
I blacked out and woke up on the shore.
